Postnatal yoga

Are you a new mom and longing for more strength and energy? Many women feel tired and drained in the first few months after giving birth. The first year with your baby is a very special time, but sometimes also a big challenge. Postnatal yoga can help you in many ways during this time. Through yoga exercises, you can rebuild strength and recharge your batteries by increasing your body’s energy levels through practice.

Postnatal yoga offers you a wonderful opportunity to find yourself amidst all this change, to lovingly accept yourself, to pause and breathe. The physical changes are significant, as during pregnancy the abdominal muscles change, the tissue softens due to hormones, and the fascia and muscles are stretched. During the postpartum period and in the weeks that follow, the recovery process begins. The pelvic floor plays a particularly important role in this recovery, as it is strengthened, and any diastasis recti is also addressed.

Before you participate in a yoga class again after your pregnancy…

  • Approximately 8 weeks should have passed since the birth of your child (more like 8-12 weeks after a cesarean section).
  • The healing of all birth injuries should be well completed – it’s best to have this checked by your midwife or gynecologist.

Namaste. Aloha!
